Halloween 2026
Trick-or-treat night in Brody's Landing. Norwalk's hours are 6:00 to 8:00 PM โ our route, the evening forecast, and one very committed jack-o'-lantern are all right here.
Hosted by Kyle & Amanda
The basics
Spot the Heelers on Cormorant Drive
For real life: the Hoskinsons are going as the Heelers this year. Daddy is Bandit, Mom is Chilli, Vera is Bingo, and Vivian โ smallest Heeler, biggest job โ is Bluey. If a pack of cartoon dogs comes up your walk tomorrow night, that's us. Woof.
Halloween evening forecast โ Norwalk, Iowa
The real forecast for tomorrow night โ and it's a good one for trick-or-treating: overcast and mild, no rain expected, light wind. Warm enough that the Heeler costumes won't need coats over the top. Checked Friday, October 30.
Our trick-or-treat route
Brody's Landing, starting and ending at our front door: west on Cormorant Dr โ past Kingfisher Dr, one more road over, where the street becomes Jacobin Dr โ then north on Green Heron Dr, east on Yordi Dr, and south on Kingfisher Dr back home. The full loop is about 0.7 miles; turning east at Quetzal Dr makes it a shorter, roughly 0.5-mile version.
1. Start & finish โ home
345 Cormorant Dr. Out the front door at 6:00.
2. West on Cormorant Dr, past Kingfisher Dr
Don't turn at Kingfisher โ keep going one more road over. West of Kingfisher the street is Jacobin Dr, out to Green Heron Dr.
3. North on Green Heron Dr, past Quetzal Dr
Turn north on Green Heron. Little legs? Quetzal is the bail-out point โ turn east here for the short loop, about 0.5 miles all in.
4. Turn east on Yordi Dr
At the north end of Green Heron, head east on Yordi toward Kingfisher.
5. Down Kingfisher Dr, then back home
South on Kingfisher, then east on Cormorant โ home by 8:00, buckets full.
Photos from the day
More photos from the night land here after tomorrow โ then Halloween's page is finished, moves into Past Gatherings as its own permanent page, and Thanksgiving becomes the featured gathering here.
Coming up next
Halloween is tomorrow night. Once it's over and its page rolls into the archive, Thanksgiving becomes the featured gathering on this page โ and Christmas is right behind it. Each future gathering already has its page waiting.
Thanksgiving 2026

The in-between news, for family who aren't on Facebook every day.
Vivian is here
Vivian joined the family on July 6, 2026. Vera has opinions about being a big sister, and most of them are positive.
Vera turned three
Vera's birthday was in October โ her party page has already had its turn in the spotlight and now lives in Past Gatherings.
This site has a home now
hoskinsonfamily.com is registered. From here on, the home page always leads with the next gathering, and every finished one is kept โ Thanksgiving by Thanksgiving, Christmas by Christmas, birthday by birthday.
How this site works
One gathering at a time, and nothing is ever thrown away.
The home page leads with the next gathering
Whatever's coming up next gets the top of the home page โ right now, that's Halloween 2026, with its date, trick-or-treat hours, route, and forecast up top.
After the day, it gets its photos
The same page gains its "Photos from the day" and a short recap of how it went, while it's all still fresh.
Then it rolls into the archive
The finished page moves to Past Gatherings under its own permanent address, frozen as made โ and the next gathering takes the spotlight here.
